Hello,
I had has this problem for a while now.
My Norton ghost 15 keeps failing when backing up my Hard drive.
Looking in the logs I can see:
Error E7C3000F: Device \\?\SymantecSnapshot0 cannot read 7560 sectors starting at LBA 307067224.
Error EBAB03F1: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. 0xE7C3000F (Norton Ghost)
The Windows 7 was also failing but when I cleared the cache for my Firefox and IE, the Windows 7 backup then ran successfully.
I have run a check disk twice and used the option to recover bad blocks but no disk errors are reported.
On Microsofts site I keep seeing references to "reparse points" but as the Windows 7 backup is now working I don't feel that, whatever "reparse points" are, are causing the Ghost backup to fail.
Ghost File and folder backups work just fine, however.
Could anyone advise what may be causung this and a possible solution.
Thanks very much for any help
Phil.
Hi DaveH
I have already run chkdsk using the repair option but the problem still remains.
I ran the Ghost backup with the option of "skip bad sectors" and the backup was successfull.
Like you mentioned, looks like I need a new Hard Drive although this one is only just over a year old.
Thanks for your advice.
Phil.
