Hello,
I am trying to upgrade my Toshiba laptop (running Windows 7 Home Premium) to a bigger and faster and more silent HDD.
However no matter what I try the duplicated disk (I do a backup on an external USB drive then restore to the new HDD. I had most success in the past using this method rather than cloning) the new disk does not boot.
I get an AUTOCHK missing error message, then a blue screen and it reboots or tries to.
Did check the old HDD with Norton Utilities 15 but it could not find anything wrong. Tried to copy the autochck.exe file from a working and booting PC but did not help either.
I tried to fix the drive in many ways using Norton Utilities 15 and whatnot, could not find anything using Google that worked like chckdsk etc... so if anybody has any idea how to fix this. Thanks.
