Hi all. I've had Norton Ghost 15 for around a year, and had successfully used it for a number of months after I had gotten it. However, it had been a couple of months since I had last used it.
When I went to use it today, it was giving me an error about not being connected to the service, or something to that effect. So, I figured I would try uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and see if that fixed the problem.
However, on attempting to reinstall it, after the installation was completed, when trying to run it for the first time, it is giving me Error E1AD3212, saying that "You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this operation."
Now, I only have one user account on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit), with administrator settings, and one of the first things I had done when setting it up was turning off all of the silly user controls and all that nonsense, so, I can't imagine it would be an issue with anything on that end (and, again, it had worked fine for months previously, and hadn't given this error until I had uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it). And, under Norton Ghost's Security Configuration Tool, everything's checked for Allow as well.
I've tried following the information here:
I'm not 100% positive Step 2 actually happened properly (I got the pop-up when loading that page and had accepted it, but not positive everything happened as it should have, and it's not showing up when I try to go back to that page again), but, in either event, the problem is still there.
I've tried searching around on the forums, and have found some other people having the same issues, but, of course, it's the usual frustration of years-old threads of people either posting the problem and not following it up, posting "Alright, I fixed it" and leaving it at that, or having other solutions which haven't worked for me. So, tried going that route as well.
So, if anyone can shed any light onto why it's doing this, and how I can go about fixing it, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
