I have been running Norton Ghost 15 with Windows 7 64 bit for a few months now. Today when I tried to backup my PC to the external USB drive and I got the following error:
-Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. POSTCONDITION failed, CopyLegacyBootManager::GetDestinationRegion: .\CopyLegacyBootManager.cpp(190): pRegion. (UMI:V-281-2987-19)
I read in the forum that the problem was on the external drive and the person was advised to wipe the external drive clean and that fixed his problem. I looked on the external drive and had two directories and only a single partion. The first directory was where I back up my "C" drive to and the second was a directory named VPRORECOVERY. I decided to just delete the VPROrecovery folder and everything started working.
My question is are the backups that were already on the external USB drive still good and can I use them if necessary and can you explain what the message means and why I got it?
I have a new laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64bit (Clean install). I entered the dates wrong it should be 25 Nov not 25 Oct forgot what month we are in. I bought Ghost 15 as soon as it was released.
My full drive backups and restore points are working properly it looks like only my data file backups are failing with this error code.
Please check out this link for relevance and let me know if this resolves the issue for you. Please make sure and follow the portion for 64 bit Windows Vista.
Thanks for the quick response! I just completed the backup and everything seems to be ok . However I was expecting the backup to recreate the Vprorecovery directory on the external drive But it is not there. I did find anothere vprorecovery directory on my "c" drive.but the date on that was a few months ago.
Any ideas why it did not recreate it? Maybe I shouldn't complain since everything seems to be working but I am curious as to what all this means.
