Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit failed to start. I booted from the Norton Ghost CD and selected Recover My Computer. The recovery appeared to work, but Windows still failed to start. I finally had a local computer repair service work on the problem. In a very short time they solved the problem. It was a bad BCD file. It seems to me that Norton Ghost should have restored the working BCD file.
I tried the newest recovery point first and then some older ones; all with the same result: Windows would not start. My confidence in Norton Ghost is gone. When I really needed it, it failed.
Any idea what could have gone wrong?
