All,
I'm trying to recover my PC after a hard drive crash using an image backup (Win XP, Compaq Presario desktop, SR1710NX, Norton Ghost 15.0).
Machine will not boot.
Tried multiple images, formatted the hard drive, etc. Norton builds a C, D partitions (NGH_15_0) , then creates the PC image in the H partition.
The C & D partitions have a BOOT folder.
I used these options: create a MBR, make a bootable partition, set drive active, verify recovery point, restore original disk signature.
My guess is Win XP is still booting from the C drive and Norton must point it somehow to the H drive.
Advice is appreciated.
I do recall reading that the BOOT folder or a file in the folder, sometimes they don't get configured correctly - just can't find that post....
Also - I don't appear to have the "COPY MY HARD DRIVE" option, only to recover.
