Norton Ghost to do a straight clone.

I am having some problems.

I believe my OS is hanging becuase of bad sectors.

Running HDD Scan now and only showing two but I know there is a HDD HARDWARE issue.

Would like to clone drive ASAP.

Dell desktop.

Dell replacement drive (pre-imaged)

installed new off the shelf drive and installed new install of win7

this is now my boot drive.

Installed ghost

set up old drive and new drive as SATA 2 & 3

blew out the existing partitions (except small OEM partition) on replacement drive

started ghost -> started straight copy - selected 3rd partition on source drive and main partition on replacement drive

[both source and destination have small OEM partition. Source has utility partition and then main partition]

kept getting error messages....turned of Kaspersky Virus software and ran again

no errors...everything looks good.

But never reach even 1% on Norton

end up hard rebooting.

Disk Management in windows shows the new drive with the Utility partition in place.

Can I copy just a partition to a new drive's partition?

source = 3rd partition on a disk ( {oem}{dell utility}{primary} )

destination = 2nd partition on disk ( {oem}{primary} )

haven't used ghost since DOS days....
