I am running a new Vista computer here, and using Norton Ghost v14.
The computer has 2 HDD installed. The C:\ and the secondary E:\
I bought Ghost because I was under the impression that I could do what I want.
This is what I want to achieve. I want to have the E:\ mirror the C:\ so if C:\ should ever go down, I can just switch out to E:\ and be up again.
I thought the Copy Drive feature would work, but it give me an error that the destination drive is in use. ButI could ignore and unmount the drive to procedd with the copy.
Is there a step that I am missing. THe destination (E:\) is hooked up as a secondary drive, but there is nothing on it, no apps that may be running or anything as the error message is suggesting. I am hesitant to ignore the error message and continue with the save.
Is this even a funtion of Ghost? Am I missing a step?
Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
I would recommend reviewing Chapter 15 of the Norton Ghost 14.0 User Guide first:
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/home_homeoffice/products/ghost/nghost_14/manuals.html
This chapter details the hardware and software settings necessary for copying the drive, as well as the many different available options. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns about this process.
