Norton hangs after installing updates

The last couple of days, I started having a problem with Norton Internet Security under Windows 8.1. Every time I install updates with LiveUpdate, it hangs after installing the updates. It says "Completed" on the third line ("Process Updates") but the button at the bottom right corner never changes from "Cancel" to "OK". I let it run for over an hour, and eventually had to kill it with Windows Task Manager. But after restarting Windows, I can open Norton, scan my computer, etc. I think the updates are getting installed, but LiveUpdate never terminates properly. This has happened every time for the last couple of days, so I don't think it's a problem with my Internet connection (I'm not having any other problems accessing the Internet). Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
