Norton Hotspot Logon Issues

I'm having issues with Norton Hotspot with an iPod gen 5 running ios 7.1.  I'm able to download the software and install it on my personal network, and able to get it to work that way.

I'm not able to remove and download a certificate and get it to work on an open network afterward, like I think it was designed for.

My 2 cents are that the program is advertised as though you can use it at Starbucks or another location with open wifi.  My comment is that it doesn't work that way in reality with my ios device.  From discussions with the support group, hasn't been tested that way, and the Norton team it isn't allowed to have it tested that way.

My challenge to you is this:

1. Set up Norton Hotspot on your network on an iPod 5th gen.

2. Go out to lunch and grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

3. Use the wifi using norton hotspot on the same iPod.

4. Go to your local office depot and do the same.

5. Leave me instructions on how to make it work.

Best of wishes...  my how the world has changed in a few short years!

How do I manage to not have someone capture my Norton password if I'm using it on an open network to download a VPN certificate?

OK.

I finally got it to work, I think.  (If Norton changed anything that may have helped, Apple also updated their ios... so I don't know if it makes a difference but...)

This time when I logged in I checked the box that says "remember me on this computer".  That seems to make it work.  If I log in manually there are issues.  Maybe that was the problem I was having?

-the newbie.

Is there is a way to do this?
