Norton Hotspot Privacy Won't Connect on iPhone

NHP worked great until today, now it suddenly won't connect on iPhone (iPhone 5, IOS 6.0.2 (10A551), eitehr WiFi (2 different networks, one open and the other WPA2) or LTE.  It prompts me to download and install a new configuration, which appears to go normally, then it tries again to conenct and fails.  I've tried turning off the device and turning it on again, and uninstalling and reinstalling NHP (both with and without turning the phone off and on again between uninstalling and installing).

I have the same app on my MacBook Air (OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2), and it works fine.

Hi dart14n.

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums. :smileyhappy:

Sorry to hear of your problem.  I am hoping that it is a temporary server problem but I cannot be sure.  My first suggestion would be to try again tomorrow.  I will see if I can find out if there are any known problems with the servers.

Just in case that does not work, can you confirm that the new download was via the App store or did it come some other way?

Also can you tell us your rough location - Country will do.

I look forward to hearing back from you. Hopefully with a report that all is now well, but if not we will do our best to help.

Good luck.

Yes, the download was via the App Store.

I'm in the United States (Eastern Time Zone).

I have just installed from App Store and purchased a year subscription in the UK and get same issues not connecting and to reinstall profile. Not impressed for the £50 cost

I've just tried again, and it still won't connect.  I did a clean install from the App Store, signed in, downloaded and installed the profile, and it's acting the same way it was yesterday.

worked for months on ipad and iphone, won't connect on either yesterday or today.

I have completely exhausted all weekend with the same exact problem! I have tried over and over to uninstall/ reinstall so many different ways! I have verified countless tests That my Internet does work. I have contacted live support and after nearly 2 hrs of nonsense I was told this is escalated to supervisor status of which I have yet to hear any response. Completely disgusted! If it is a server problem why not just tell us. It would save a weekend of trying to figure out that the problem is NOT in my phone. Anyone with some realistic troubleshooting ideas and/or info to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same issue. We are paying a significant fee for the VPN service - fix this please

Yes, I am having the same problem as well.  Application worked for weeks and then suddenly would not connect. Uninstalled and reinstalled from the App Store several times, but the problem still persists.

Sadly, just at the moment, this appears to be a common problem.  :-(

Norton are aware of it and hopefully it will be resolved soon.  Keep watching here and I would hope to see some good news posted before too long.

Edit - and apologies to T-trout

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums. :smileyhappy:

As Andmike mentioned, Symantec is aware of these reports and currently looking into the issue. We'll keep this thread posted as we progress on this matter.

Hotspot privacy is working for me now.  I wonder if others are seeing the same.

Thanks for the report back T-trout.

If anyone else is still seeing problems please let us know.

System is now working for me.
Thanks

As a few of you have already noticed, this issue has been resolved. Thank you for your patience during the unscheduled outage and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Moved to Other Mobile Services for better exposure.

Have you guys tried checking the box that says "remember this password" when you install the certificate"?
