After installation of your Norton product, be sure you restart your computer. Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. If the icon is still not showing in the Windows system tray at the bottom right of the screen, click on the up arrow to the left of the icons to see if the Norton icon is in the hidden area. If it is there, you can drag it down to the main system tray to keep it visible.
It sounds like when you did open 360, you were shown the new 360 My Norton interface. If you are looking to use the original classic interface you can switch the default interface. From the new interface, click on the Settings gear icon in the middle bottom of the screen, then click on Launch View. From there you can select which of the two interfaces you want to see when you open 360.

Please update your Windows 10/11? and run the machine for a few days.
Please Restart (not Shut down) machine for a few days.

Thanks for the reply. I am so embarrassed to say that I cant even find what Version Windows I have. I went under Window settings which tells me I need to download updates for Win 11, but has that come out yet? The laptop is 2 days old.
I believe it did not have any other antivirus installed on it. I simply logged on to my Norton acc and downloaded it on the laptop. Under the "all apps," I just see an icon "Norton Security" which opens to full screen with the "run smart scan" in black on the left side, half-screen. I did not have this problem when I installed it on laptop #2 back in January. Do you recommend I open another Norton account with a different email and reinstall it using the same product key?
