Norton Icon change

I have noticed that the yellow norton icon in the bottom right hand side of my computer screen has changed, it now appears slightly different, and has a blue square attached to it. Can someone please tell me what this is indicating.

It’s saying that it has your monthly report ready. Click on it and it will tell you what it has been doing, as in what it has stopped from accessing your computer (hackers, viruses, etc.)

Hi Reactivate,

If you don't want to run backup, then good to keep it as disabled. But inorder to make Norton 360 understand that Backup is working, you may have to run atleast one backup and then disable it. Try the following:

1. Right-click on your desktop, select New > Text File. Rename it as Test file.

2. Go to Backup settings, under What tab, uncheck all other files and folders.

3. Click Add a File and select the Test file from your desktop.

4. Under Where tab, select any of your internal drives(local harddrive).

5. Under When tab, select Manual Backup and click Save Settings.

6. Click Run Backup Now. Check whether the backup completes successfully, then disable the backup and let us know the results.

Thanks Yogesh, I will probably try that tommorow, and will let you know how I get on.

Problem is now solved, I had disabled backup ok, but as mentioned could not get rid of the blue icon. Anyway as soon as I logged on as adminstrator it solved the problem, it no longer appears when I’m logged in using the standard user account I normally use to access the internet.
