Norton icon missing - Windows 7

I am very embarrased to say that I have lost my Norton desktop icon.  I'm pretty good with computers, but I cannot seem to figure out this very basic problem.  I intended to press press "pin to task-bar", instead I pressed delete.  The fact is - its not even in the recycle bin to recover.  I know the basic items can be recovered through Control Panel > Appearance & personalization > personalization then "change desktop icons", but Norton isn't there.  Further to this, I went into my start menu > all programs > Norton 360 and its not there either.  However it is still installed according to "add and remove programs".  Suggestions anyone? Thanks!

Hi,

the icons are created for this executable: "C:\Program Files\Norton 360\Engine\5.1.0.29\uiStub.exe"

Open this folder, right click on the file, and click on the Send -> Desktop icon option. It will create the necessary icon for you. :) Just rename it to Norton 360.

Thanks so much, PapauZ! It took me months of trying to figure it out then you solved it for me within a couple minutes.  Thanks again!

Good to hear your issue is solved. :)
