It's really disappointing that Norton has chosen to completely disregard this issue (As they have for the most part across the board with Windows 8). I realize the standard response is, "Internet Explorer 10 metro or modern view does not support plugins and add-ons." Well, the truth is, this is not completely accurate. HP Simple Pass was able to integrate their website logon feature, and Internet Download Manager has also been able to integrate with the new browser. I'm sure there are other exceptions, but HP SImple Pass is a prime example that it is possible.
I realize that many users rely on the toolbar to manage Identity Safe, but as a 360 user (I'm assuming it's the same with your other internet security suites), the toolbar really isn't necessary. For those who would use Identity Safe as a standalone feature, simply develop a small desktop app to manage their logins (HP SimplePass went this route long before Windows 8 was released).
To be honest, Norton has appeared to have its head in the sand when it comes to Windows 8. I have about 200 days left of my subscription and have waivered back and forth over giving up on Norton altogether. I suppose we'll see in that time whether you can get on the ball with Windows 8, or if Windows Security Essentials builds on its recent reputation. If it's the latter, I hope Norton has fun with all the Googlers and Macs.
