Is there any way that NIS 2009 can ignore boinc and seti@home process (or consider them idle) so it will perform idle scans?
Yes, Boinc can be manually snoozed from the systray icon, which is what I can do for my laptop. It's a manual process where I'd prefer an automatic process. I tested this and it worked.
For my desktop, which I leave on overnight a couple times a week, I configured Advanced -> Preferences, processor usage tab to not run for 15 minutes before midnight every night and not run from 23:00-23:59 on Friday and Saturday night. I expect this will work fine.
I was hoping that NIS could be configured to treat this application as idle so it would take priority whenever it wanted/needed.
Not a huge deal . . .
Thanks for the advice.
