Norton increasingly frustrating "Application Blocking"

I am having the problem that Norton 360 habitually blocks apps that are explicitly allowed in the "Application Blocking" settings of the `firewall tab. Why is this? How can is stop this happening? Thanks

Any news on this issue ?

Now in order to avoid this strongly frustrating problem I did rollback to NIS7, but at every boot I get the message to upgrade to NIS8.

Any chance to work peacefully with a fully functioning and updated product and get only relevant popups ?

Note: I'm staying in macOS Mojave as well also because of this problem.

Sigh! I was really hoping there was a fix for this. What's the point of having a "Don't ask again" box if it keeps asking AND blocking? Opening Norton, blocking and unblocking certain apps every time is getting really old.

Thank you for posting.  This unfortunately is the same issue several of us have been complaining about since early July.  Norton needs to get on the ball and fix this issue.

Um, appears you run Norton 360 for Mac.  Norton for Mac Forum <here> .

FWIW ~ Firewall settings for Mac | 31

Application Blocking
Lets you configure firewall rules for the applications that run on your Mac to connect to the Internet.
The Application Blocking settings determine whether to allow or deny an application, such as a web browser or iTunes, from connecting to the Internet.
Application Blocking settings are not specific to a particular network location.
The Application Blocking settings do not change when you change to a different network location.
You can use the Configure option under Application Blocking to set Internet
access for applications on your Mac.
Note: Whenever an overlap exists in the settings between Connection Blocking and Application Blocking, the Connection Blocking settings take precedence over the Application Blocking settings.

Connection Blocking
Lets you allow or block the applications, ports, services, and IP addresses that:
■ Connect to your Mac.
■ Connect to a network.
The Connection Blocking settings determine whether to allow or deny the incoming or the outgoing connections that use a specific service, application, or a port.
You can also configure firewall to allow or block a specific IP address on the network.
Connection blocking settings apply only to a particular location.
You can use the settings icon in the Connection Blocking row to set connections for applications and services on your Mac.

Thanks, but my interface looks nothing like yours.

I have no General tab.

Try a firewall reset.

To reset the Norton firewall, from the main Norton Security screen click on Settings - Firewall. On the General tab, click on Reset beside Firewall Reset. Restart your computer. As you use programs that access your network/internet, the firewall rules will be created again.
