I frequently run Norton Insight scan as a matter of protocol. For the last three months, after installing Intuit/TurboTax (which is a very well known and globally used tax preparation software) I have 130 untrusted entries that are given a "good" rating but are considered "not trusted" by Norton. I find this odd and disturbing since these untrusted files are well established. I do note, upon close examination, that every one of these are .DLL files which may be the issue. Does Norton Insight not scan/clear this file type after three months or is there something I need to worry about?
You should not post links to exe files that have been flagged as a problem, just in case it is a real threat.
Is this file offered directly by Rapidshare, or is it from another Rapidshare user?
Hi
Dont worry. I just posted the link because it was originally from there website.
i will remove the link now.

You can report a false positive to Symantec at this link

Thanks for the post-back. The program itself has been there for a long time, however, updates present file changes due to updates and patches. Those are the issues. Norton will detect those and bounce them against cloud based information. You are correct though in that files that are 2 years or more aged shouldn't just now be nailed as questionable. Maybe this article will provide some insights about options in the meantime.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I have submitted items in the past and in this case, now that the untrusted files is up to 173 .dll files, it is way too much of my time to submit all these files for Norton to review. For me, this is a Norton issue and if not, then it is a TurboTax/Intuit issue because, myself and millions of others use this application without issue. FWIW, I now notice that that these files are showing as almost 2 years old but have been on this computer for years. Not sure what the problem is but I am sure it is not with TurboTax/Intuit and I am not going to spend hours of my time trying to clear this up but rather wait for the Norton network to clear these automatically as the system has done in the past.
Hello Jeff. Indeed, since you are saying ALL the files not trusted are .dll files that is most likely the reason Norton isn't giving them a "trusted" rating. As you most likely know dll library files are executable and not only just used by the intended program but the OS and other software as well. Have you submitted one or more of the files to Norton? https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20090602171902EN

Although some may trust this company, I certainly would not, due to their absolute lack of customer data security. Examples of past issues are below:
