Norton Internet Security 2010 - proxy server blocking

Hi, can someone please advise if I can block the use of proxy servers in IS 2010, and how to do so?

Thank you.

anyone?

Can you give us a bit more detail.  Most users with proxies have difficulty connecting.  This is the first time that someone wanted to block it.  What is connecting that you don't want to be able to connect?

what I am trying to do is block our 15 year old from side stepping the Norton IS 2010 parental control and attempting to access Facebook via proxy servers. I am trying to prevent the use and access of proxy servers when using Internet Explorer.

I have blocked access to Facebook via IS 2010, but it can still be accessed by proxy servers.

Parental / 15 year old delinquant issues....

Hi simon1098,

OnlineFamily.Norton might offer better options than the NIS parental controls, and it is also free.  This post discusses the way OnlineFamily.Norton was addressing the issue of proxies, as of last July:

thank you, I will take a look at it and will respond if I am still requiring further assistance.

ok, I have tried to download online family, and it is coming up with a message that I need to uninstall Norton Add on Pack.

Is this normal? I actually like the add on pack. Are there any other options?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to have both these parental control programs coexisting. This behaviour is by design and it is perfectly normal. You can either have Add-on pack or Online family.
