NIS 2011 & Norton Ghst v12 installed on Windows XP sp3
I run Norton Ghost v12 for my PC backups.
PROBLEM...
Backup performance is incredibily sloooow (especially on the full drive backups - where a recovery point is created) WHEN NIS is active. I am not sure which NIS module is slowing down the process, but I go and turn every one of the (NIS) software switches off (and close down the Firewall for protection) and backups run fast. Turning off the software switches manually is a pain.
Is there any quick way to turn off NIS (and block network traffic) - like with one button - so that my Ghost backups can run fast?
ALSO..
Ghost has the ability to run a process before and after backups, so it would be great if there was some way to do this by calling a process from Ghost to NIS both before and after to perform the shutdown & startup.
