I have 1.9 ghz cpu and usually this never happens but recently it has been doing it a lot. Everytime I play a game like runescape, the process known as ccsvchst.exe always uses 40-50% of my cpu everytime i play this game or other games. These games like to use 60-70% of my cpu which i don't mind. What i do mind is the annoying way this Symnatec affiliated annoyance does this. I am close to uninstalling it and demanding a refund.
What causes this problem?
New info: When ccsvchst.exe uses up 40-50% of my cpu usage, it happens when I am doing nothing. But, when I open Google Chrome it instantly drops to 1% as normal. Then when I close Google Chrome it goes back up to 40-50%.
There is some sort of problem with NIS. Their must have been some fault in one of the recent updates this month.
Same here.
Used to have NIS2012 and about 2 week ago 100% CPU usage after closing Chrome. When you start Chrome again, the CPU usage immediately drops to normal and ccsvchst.exe is back to 0%.
Uninstalled NIS2012 and installed NIS2013, same thing again. After closing Chrome CPU usage of ccsvchst.exe is maxxed out to almost 100%.
Making an exception for SONAR and scanning regarding the Chrome directory and/or Chrome settings directory does not make a difference, it seems that NIS is heavily scanning something after Chrome closes.
I noticed that the periode of this scanning of ccsvchst is reduced if you clean out Chrome's history and file cache before closing.
Otherwise it can take up quite a long time (5-10 mins) before everything is back to normal.... very annoying!
I hope that this problem can be solved soon, at least that this problem might be confirmed by someone of Symantec.
