Okay ... Okay... Okay... We all know that Webservers open ports and Norton Internet Security closes them. At present I am developing ... ... ... ... top secret webpages ... ... ... heh ... webpages ... I decided to try and install xampp webserver with all the usual http 80 yoursql filedolittle mercury and venus services... turns out the httpop service will not start and if it does it stops like a stalled car. the yousql starts for some reason. I press all the norton buttons. I wondered if anyone in the community has been able to make norton internet security 2012 work with xampp or are they not condusive for a development environment?
I really like nortons features it has caught and saved me when i have clicked on the wrong button a couple of times.
So does norton have a security suite for developers? i know that is a deep question... has anyone made xampp w/apache and N I S 2012 work together? .... thanks norton community!
