I normally buy the box version of Norton Internet Security when it is on sale. It was easy to buy previously because there is a year printed on the box. Like it is 2013 now, I should pick a box that reads 2014.
The current version of Norton Internet Security box version now does not print the year. Does the year matter? My NIS subscription expires April 2014. If I buy a NIS box that is for 2013 or 2012 and used it to renew my NIS subscription in April 2014, do I get the full 1 year of subscription?

Actually, I need to clarify because I used the word subscription and that may confuse the issue.
Because I buy a new box every year, I get a different product key every year. There is no renewal actually.
Let me rephrase the question. If I buy a NIS box that is meant for 2013 or 2012, and activate the product key in April 2014, do I get a full year subscription from April 2014 to April 2015?
Yes, the key is activated and valid for a whole year subscription at the moment you enter it, not earlier.
I suppose you know, that when you buy a box with a key, you need to enter the new key only one day before the subscription expires. Otherwise you will lose the remaining days of the previous key.
