This started about three days ago, and is now happening on the order of once a day. I thought I'd try to handle it early before it starts really annoying me.
I'm using Eudora 7 (don't judge; I hate Outlook), and this just started.
When the email scanner hangs, the icon stays in the system tray, and until I reboot, I can't access my e-mail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What is the Norton product and what version is the product at? Version information is available in the main screen under Help&Support > Version. When this hangs, is this an immediate hang or do you Eudora open for some time before the ‘hangage’?
Norton Internet Security
Version: 16.5.0.134
It's an immediate hang. Eudora has a bar that shows how many e-mails are to download, and if it's 153 total emails, it hangs at 153.
If it actually starts downloading (which it usually does after a reboot), it will get through them all.
In the NIS2009 Settings > Internet Settings > Smart Firewall > Program Control list, what is Eudora set to? Allow, custom, etc.
Any, new programs installed before this happened or updates to Eudora maybe?
Eudora is set to Auto.
The only thing recently installed was whatever came out on the last patch Tuesday from MS. No updates to Eudora for months, if not longer.
I have been having the same problem, using Outlook 2007, same version of NIS 2009 (16.5.0.134), and Vista Business edition SP1. Would also appreciate any assistance.
