Norton Internet Security for Mac crashes Yosemite

I recently upgraded my operating system to Mac OS X Yosemite.  I spoke with a support engineer regarding getting a copy of Norton Internet Security for Mac that would install.  He gave me a product dated Oct 15, 2014 and I was able to successfully install the product.  Then, my operating system started to crash.  I contacted apple support.  I was told "The system is going through kernel panic due to the 3rd party security software installed. This software installs kernel extensions that are altering system behavior to the point of disabling the OS."  The extensions in question are located in MACHD / library / extensions

I was using the latest version of Norton Internet Security, and I couldn't find a resolution on the forum.  After uninstalling Norton Internet Security, the crashes stopped occurring.  For now, I cannot use your product until this problem is resolved.
