Norton Internet Security provides false warnings?

Hi Norton -

 

Just received an email from someone claiming that Norton Internet Security is flagging a number of news pages on Techwatch as being unsafe.

 

I don't use Norton/Symantec products, so I cannot verify this myself. However, it would be very disturbing if Norton software were found to be making these untrue allegations.

 

I would therefore be grateful if someone from Symantec could advise.

Is there also a function where existing domains can be checked for security warnings, outside of subscription services, please? Simply that I do not know how to check if there actually has been a warning posted by Symantec against any individual website.

You can use Norton's SafeWeb at the link below to enter the URL of websites without being subscribed to Norton products/having Norton products installed on your machine:
