Hello,
I am an engineer at Ecwid. We have recently discovered that Norton Internet Security slows down Ecwid control panel (web application) in IE9. This probably means that NIS suspects some malicious content transferred from app.ecwid.com or Amazon (Ecwid uses AWS for hosting stores' data). If so, it is apparently false positive.
It doesn't completely blocks the loading though. I am not sure, what is going on in the background as NIS doesn't provide any report or log records on the matter. Maybe, it takes so long for NIS to analyse the code in the Ecwid JS files.
Could you please check it?
Also, here is the details on how the issue can be reproduced.
System
Windows 7 , IE9, Norton Internet Security (downloaded from http://ie.norton.com/downloads/)
Site
The issue is reproduced on Ecwid control panel. An Ecwid account is needed for accessing that page.
How to reproduce
- Open my.ecwid.com in IE9 with disabled NIS' "Browser protection"scanner (settings -> web -> browser protection) - it loads and works quite fast.
- Enable browser protection and open my.ecwid.com in IE9 again - it loads a way longer and works slower.
We'd like to ask you to address the issue as soon as possible, as it affects many of our clients (more than 200,000 merchants currently use our service. ). Thank you in advance.
By the way, we've also tried it on IE10 - it works quite fast, there wasn't any speed issue.
Kind regards,
