I noticed that it was not loading up properly for a few days. So when I put my CD in to try and uninstall and then reinstall: it gets frozen. A box pops up that says Norton Internet Security has stopped working. How do you fix this?
Please tell us the year, version # of your NIS. Also your operating system and service pack. Do you have any other security software installed? Hopefully one of us can help you with this.
Norton Internet Security: 2009
No other security software
Windows Vista 32 bit
I noticed in the gadgets it was constantly updating..and it should of been green saying secure. Been that way for the past few days. So I figured just delete and re-install. I manually deleted some things as when I try to re-install and choose the uninstall a window pops up saying Norton Internet Security has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is avaliable.
Manual deletion of anything can be tricky business. Is there anything in your reycle bin that you can restore? Failing that the Norton removal tool may be the next step. If you can restore what you deleted, go to add/remove programs to uninstall Norton. Use the Norton removal tool if the uninstall still can't run. Reboot. Reinstall from the most recent version rather than the CD to reduce updating.
