Windows 10 version of NIS locks up when scanning, either of my two external USB 3 drives - Both Seagate drive, one 2TB, the other 3TB.
It reaches a point where is shows as "Working", but the number of Files scanned, never increases.
This never happened with the previous version of NIS.
If you select Pause, you can Resume, but still there is no increase in the number of files!
If you press STOP, NIS totally locks up, and the only method of closing is shut down the PC.
It cannot be stopped with Window Task manager; a message appears, not responding!
The attached image show the NIS window, 5 hours, after I pressed stop; the chevrons are still moving, but Pause & Stop are greyed out.
Clicking Close (X), on the first occasion opens a new window, asking you do you really want to close, before scanning is complete.
Clicking Close (X), again, and nothing happend - Totally locked up!
I have tried re-installing NIS several time, with clear (reinstalled) operating systems, but with the same result
I have also tried deleting the file, which appears to stop the search action, but again, searching stops, this time on a different file!
Personally, I believe that this version has a defect, but I would be interested in others experiance!
