Going to give this a shot befor I have to do a total reinstal of Windows XP Pro.
First off I have no idea what caused the initial problem. Was using Norton AV 2009 with out a problem.
I installed Turbo Tax and had some type of instal problem and had to hard boot my system.
After that everything locked up.
I've done several unistall of NIS (using the Norton removal tool) and reinstals of NIS. I've combed though this forum and many other sites trying to to a find a solution. I've taken the whole system down and install in safe mode ( which initially worked), but when then locked when normal start up was tried.
What I consistantly notice is that everytime I do a normal start up, I loose all internet connectivity. Something is obviously conflicting here, I just don't know what it is. Oh I also tied using the online Norton tech support,they basically tried everything I've done, then went they went to reboot, they were of course locked out. At that point the gave up and gave me the classic "It's not Norton's fault call Microsoft". I'm not looking to point fingers. I just want my system back.
