Hello, wonder if anyone can help.
Here's my problem..
If i try to run a quick scan or full system scan, Norton pops up with the scanning window but the files scanned always reads 0.
If I try to cancel the scan, nothing happens. Norton says that it is stopping but it aint.
Looking at windows resource monitor i see...
ccSvcHSt.exe uses up 50 % CPU
ccSVCHST.exe is also recording a massive amount of memory Hard Faults/sec.
Canceling Norton from task manager sometimes cancels Norton, but i am then unable to open norton again. (computer reboot is required)
I am able to do a scan through custom scan, but im not too sure if this is working properly as i just had to get rid of some malware (ToolSecurity) that norton didn't pick up.
I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling. I have gone to the top tech issues page under "scan results show 0 items" doesn't work.
Any Ideas anyone??
Im using Norton Internet Security 2009 16.7.2.11
Vista Ultimate
on an ASUS laptop M51S
