Are you able to change the settings in your firewall? You could try to set everything to allow for Quicken

I can completely remove Norton now and Quicken still won’t work.

Perhaps there are still some remnants of McAfee on your system. Try running this McAfee Removal Tool to see if that helps. The actual tool download is about halfway down the page.

FWIW, especially in the light of your second message, I am running Q2008 and NIS2008 with no problems. It is under XP Pro.

I did run the McAfee Removal Tool .  It didn't solve my Quicken proglem but I got a lot of junk off my computer.

Now that the junk is cleared off, try running "Check Disk" on your hard drive. Click the box that says "Automatically Fix Errors". A restart will be required.

 

Maybe that will help.

Well it was worth the try.  I am ready to buy a new computer.  My ex is running NIS2008 and Quicken 2008 on his new computer with Vista and hasn't had any problems.

When you launch Quicken what is the error message? Is it something like "failed to create msxml..." ? Or does it just not launch?

 

I found this info on Quicken's website that you might try. It has to do with checking your msxml and reinstalling it.
