I Turned my computer on for the day. I then did a Norton LiveUpdate and everything was fine; this was about three hours' ago. I then Re-Started the computer and did a Full System Scan in Safe Mode. I then Re-Started the computer in Normal Mode and did a Norton LiveUpdate; it said "Failed to Complete" for the "Check for Updates", but Downloaded and Installed Norton 2009 Web Protection Definitions and Norton 2009 Streaming Virus Definitions, and now, I am not longer getting Norton 2009 Streaming Virus Definitions, or any Updates now. When I Clicked on the "More Info" button, it said that it couldn't Connect to Support and to check my Internet Connection; when I Clicked "Next", it informed me that Norton Internet Security could not help, and listed a list of Support Contact Numbers. Is anyone else having this Issue? Is there any Issues with the Servers?

The LiveUpdate servers are down, and the Symantec website is not running properly, either. Just look at this thread (and other threads addressing the same problem are cropping up right now):

Symantec Customer Service, too, is beyond reach. Tried chatting with them to get an official verdict on the LiveUpdate server status. Couldn’t get through. Sluggish loading of pages, chatroom itself refused to load.
Of course symantec is having problems - that is what happens when you've been promising updates for months, then announce the release, then cannot keep up with the demand.
-OR-
They released the "fix" again, and it crapped out AGAIN, so they shut down the server to prevent additional downloads of their betaware.
I just turned my computers on for the first time today and found that neither could complete the check for updates phase of liveupdate. Glad to hear there isn't anything wrong on me end.
If this turns out to be another server related problem I think symantec owes us an explanation of what has been going on the past month or so. You may recall the problems with safeweb and insight. Though as floatingred said symantec may simply be updating their servers. They are going to need it once the 2010 products hit store shelves.

Aren't we all glad we paid for this experience?
Wouldn't you be better spending your time looking for the toys you lost??
It appears that all Norton Products are Affected by this, and not just Norton 2009 Products, and it also appears that the Norton Product Support are having Issues as well.

Same here. Yesterday I spent with Symantec support running my computer and telling me that I had the latest version of NIS 2009 installed and it read ver 16.1. or some such. Finally after letting me take back control I was able to download and install version 16.5 something or other. (I cannot remember strings of numbers so my math is shot!)
Now this "error" happens and I first got taken to a support page that allowed me to download a "fix" for this problem. It didn't.
So I'll sit and wait and see what happens as I take comfort in knowing I'm not alone.
Auto update should work when all is back to normal should it not?
Either way, it's never boring is it...............................
I watched the cpu action and it says that the automatic liveupate worked and completed. The same thing with the pulse updates. However, when I look at the definition updates, that shows it was last updated at 3:11 PM EDT. So that is over 2 hours ago. I also tried a manual update and that says complete, but failed to check for all updates. Yet, the cpu part says it all completed. This is with the newest version of Antivirus 16.7.0.11, what ever the newest antivirus part was. As I mentioned in my other post after I got the new version. I thought it was very odd that I only got the newest engine part, but I still had the .10 branding and that mui folders for .10. One of the Symantec employees said that was ok, but to me it seems to be like I have 2 different versions of the product running at the same time. This is just a guess on my part, but perhaps, they are now trying to push out the other 2 parts of the .11 version that wasn't pushed out at least to me. I don't know if everyone got the complete package of the .11 version or if everyone got just the .11 engine like I did. To me, it sounds like having parts of 2 different versions of the same product would cause problems. When I mentioned that in my other thread, the Symantec employee never responded again. I got the updated version on Monday night, but didn't reboot until Tuesday morning, so the new one didn't start working till then. When I looked around in the Norton folder, I saw those different folders.
Symantec Live update servers down... while pests and other mawares and virus creators and designers continue releasing and spreading their plague with fully functional servers! LOL
