I have a problem with Norton Internet Security LiveUpdate. Namely it's no working. At this point I feel like I've exhausted every troubleshooting trick I've come across or know about so I'm hoping someone here can help.
Info:
Windows 7
Norton Internet Security 2013 (Lastest Version)
Problem:
When I click Run LiveUpdate, the Norton LiveUpdate Screen appears as seen below
The screen will stay identical to the above as it appears to be stuck in the "LiveUpdate is in Progress" and the "Check for Updates" item. This will run for roughly 2 minutes and 30 seconds before "LiveUpdate is in Progress" will change to "Checking for Updates" which will last about 15 seconds before it switches to "Finished Checking for Updates" which will only be on-screen for a few seconds at which point this screen appears:
Despite the Message on top saying "Please check your Internet connection, my internet is working perfectly and I have a full strength connection.
Upon clicking "Run Norton Autofix" I am greeted with this screen:
Steps Taken:
This is actually not the first time I encountered this problem. The problem first occured sometime in mid-June, but I can't remember exactly when, but I'll start there:
-Verified my internet connection was working fine
-Tried running LiveUpdate on my other Laptop that also has Windows7 and NIS 2013 and is sitting only a foot from my current laptop. LiveUpdate runs fine. Tried running LiveUpdate on my father's desktop. It runs fine. This tells me it is not a server problem
-Next I begin a chat with Norton Support. Instead of having them remotely access my computer, I opt to have them walk me through it so I can better understand what to do if this happen in the future. After running through various information with Support and checking a few items, I am told to update using the Intelligent Updater and that the problem should be gone in 24-48 hours. I run Intelligent Updater and the problem seemingly disappears until about 4 days ago. Believing that what worked before will work again, I run Intelligent Updater, yet the problem persists.
-I scour the Internet for solutions and based on what I find I:
-Flush my DNS
-Remove Norton using the Norton Removal Tool and Re-Download/Reinstall (Twice, the second time using a different account)
-I have tried rebooting my computer multiple times
-I've searched all over the internet
None of the above has fixed the problem.
I'm stumped and thus far havn't been able to find a satisfying solution. Perhaps you guys can help.
Thank you very much
