Recently I have been logged out of several websites to which I am signed in on a permanent basis. Thus, I have to sign in everytime I visit these sites. Since my OS is Windows 10, I inquired with Microsoft. They said it has to do with my VPN setting in Norton 360 which is running permanently in the background. How I can avoid these automatic sign outs?
If you are using the VPN feature, the web site does not know it is you trying to log in. So it requires you to log in again. The VPN helps protect your identity, but there is a little more work on your part to maintain that higher level of protection.
BTW, it you are at home on a properly secured network, you do not need a VPN for this protection. That feature is needed when using any public WIFI where anyone can access the network.
I am still a "stranger" to some websites that require login & passwords. They claim I am logging in from a new device and thus require a new sign in.
Please post progress.
Thanks
Um, maybe you allow Norton to clear persistent login cookies?
What's your Norton 360 for Windows -> Tracking Cookie Scan -> ______. Try "Ignore".
