Hi all,
I have installed n360 v6 on a second PC (Vista SP2 x86) and I thought I would try Norton Management. Installed this on both, but Vista machine is listed as trial. Opening n360 on Vista machine shows correct days. Support > About has linked to servers. Not sure if I have missed something.
Is there any know issues with Norton Management site?
Thanks, Dave.
Either I have missed something quite basic, or this program is rubbish!
Dave.
Hi Dave
How did you downloaded the N360, is it from your Norton Account or is it from the short url?
Hi Subash,
As the Vista machine had just been restore to factory settings and did not have the service pack required for v6, I installed v5 from my CD. After updating Windows I clicked Support > Check for new version and upgraded.
Since my first post I uninstalled NM from both machines and was going to try again, but this time my Windows 7 machine was listed as a trial.
If the answer is to uninstall a working copy of n360 and reinstall from my account, then I will give NM a miss.
Thanks, Dave.
Hi Dave
Is it still showing Trial in the Norton M Website?
If it is still showing the same, can you Post a Screenshot of that page?
Thanks
Subash
Hi Subash,
It is currently uninstalled, but I will try again and get back to you a little later.
Thanks, Dave.
Subash,
Reinstalled on both machines and I am glad to report it is no longer showing as Trial.
Thanks, Dave.
Hi Dave
In the meantime, i had gathered some insight. It takes some time to get synced with the Norton M Website. And it doesnt matter whether you're using a CD/Short URL.
Regards
Subash
EDIT: Glad to hear that Dave...Is it through CD/Account/Short URL?

Not sure what you mean there Subash. I open n360 UI, clicked Manage, downloaded NM, logged into my account. Clicked Add and it asked me was I on the second machine.
Repeated on second machine and all is good with the world again.
Happily, Dave.
Hey i meant about the N360 Installation, is it from CD/Short URL/Account.

I was just logging in to edit!
Yep, I did not reinstall Norton 360. The Vista Machine installation was from CD v5 then upgrade to v6.
Thanks for your help.
Dave.
Edit :- My Windows 7 machine was installed via http://www.norton.com/n360s_6
I hope that answers your question.
Yup Certainly that also clarifies my confusions...
Then My Intel was correct it doesnt change according to the source of installation...
I have another question about Norton Management.
The Vista machine belongs to a friend, and as I had two spare installations remaining I installed n360 for them. Now, however, when I click on NM on friends PC it is automatically logged in to MyNortonAccount and displays my contact details etc. In theory my friend could cancel MY subscription from THEIR machine. Is there a way to prevent this, or is it back to uninstall Norton Management?
Thanks, Dave.
Hi Dave
In your friends PC, You've to sign-out from the Norton-M Website then Click on the Open Norton Management option in the Norton-M client--> it'll open the Norton-M website asking you to sign in with the email and password (of your Norton Account).
I just checked in a Win7 Ultimat(x86) machine, it asked me to sign into the website.
Hmmm,
I have signed out from NM site from both machines and if I click NM Progam on either machine I am logged in. Site opens and retrieves device information automatically. From there I can click on my Account.
Dave.
