NMS is still going to protect you. From what I read about the encryption, on Android 5 and above, you do not actually have to have a password or PIN for your encryption. What Norton may be warning about is that if you did encrypt your device and have a pin set up for your encryption, the PIN for encryption would be disabled. This does not affect your Norton protection of your device.
And you should still be able to set up a screen lock PIN while using Norton. It is a different PIN.
