I just purchased Norton Mobile on-line through my account.at account.norton.com for my wife's Samsung Adroid tablet.
I bought it from my laptop. I started her tablet, re-logged on to account.norton.com and hit the download button. It downloaded OK.
I got the error message about not downloading from google play (or whatever it's called... sorry, I'm not a tablet user) and got past that issue. (I've seen the issue discussed in this forum and essentially I did the same fix to disable that feature thru the settings and got it to install)
After installation I followed the other directions I've gotten on the support pages here: opened, agreed & launched; and then typed in the activation code. It didn't take. I even then forced a caps lock and re-typed the activation code. It's still not being accepted, and I'm absolutely sure I've copied the code correctly from My Account at account.norton.com.
(In fact, I've triple and quadruple checked and re-entered on the tablet and still no dice.)
I did get one message saying since this was a table it disabled the tracking feature. It showed malware and two other things "enabled". I don't recall what they are/were as I'm back on my laptop in another part of our house.
But I assume what I've gotten so far is just some kind of trial as My Account page shows there's still 1 download, etc; and if I try to re-enter the activation code, I've had it say, and know it would if it were with me now, that the activation code is invalid.
So how do I finish the installation.
And BTW, why, just because it's on a tablet, would the theft tracking be disabled? (perhaps no GPS?)
OK, I solved the problem: uninstalled, went to norton.mobi and downloaded; then started the app; it allowed me to sign in to my Norton account. Once that was done it auto-activated like one would expect a Norton app to do
It scanned // shows 366 days of subscription remaining, which I take as an indicator that it's fully installed and working.
