Norton N360_Backup directory massive and I'm not using N360, but Norton Security Suite

Hi There,

I've just had this issue start today and am currently running some scans to check for viruses using NSS, but I've had massive amounts of hard drive storage space dissappear.  It seems to be linked to the N360_Backup directory with all the subdirectories very current for date and time.  I have 16 sub directories starting with {0 through {9, then continues with the alphabet {A currently on {F.  Each of these directories are over 8GB so you can imagine how much space this is taking up (causing low disk space errors).

I've check my backup function in Norton Security Suite and there is only the default set that ran on 12/31/12.  The backup was set to Automatic, but I have since changed it to monthly at the end of the month figuring I can get this issue resolved before the end of January.

I have no space left on my computer which hampers my ability to work.  Each time I clear space it gets eating right up again.

Any suggestions?

Matt

Hi Matt,

Althoughy I have Norton Security Suite installed on one of my systems, I do not use the backup function - so I do noot have any experience with the functioning of the backup.

However, I do have a question:

Are you backing up your system to your system's own internal hard drive?

You can try to delete the backup sets as mentioned here:

Then create a new backup set and run backup again. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

HarryP
