Norton (no) Security

Really disappointed in Norton Security and there does not appear to be anywhere to send these complaints.  Last year, when I reconnected to the internet from my desktop, I thought I would be more secure using an old wired router and getting what I thought was a good security suite.  As it turns out, there's no such thing, as people who are harassing me happened to get hold of the MAC address on my router.  They were able to remotely access my computer and see all my browsing history and access files on my computer.  I will never again connect to the internet from my computer and will therefore never again buy anything that claims to offer security and privacy.  What you should sell is knowledge about how to protect yourself on the internet, not only from viruses or some random hacker from Russia or China, but how to physically protect your computer from vicious people  that you actually know.  I even wasted my money on a VPN on the recommendation from people on this site who said that they can secure a connection to the internet and provide privacy.  This is a gross exaggeration of what a VPN can do.  They are basically selling privacy, but all data is sent to the ISP through the router before being 'hidden' in the virtual tunnel that a VPN creates around an internet connection.  In the end, nothing is hidden, private, or secure, and I am disgusted really that after decades of internet connectivity that there is so little information available on these things that I ended up finding out after people had already illegally gotten onto my computer remotely.  I looked everywhere for information on what was possible when people had the MAC address on a router, and came up with near zero.  Or outright denial that anything could be done at all with a MAC address.  Any business selling any security suite should include warnings that it does not protect a person on the internet in all scenarios and in fact, there is not much that can be done to protect anyone at all, unless you have an above average knowledge of computers in general and can set up your own computer from the ground up.  I'm sorry that I believed Norton Security and a VPN could help me.  I could have saved a lot of money if I'd known the truth.
