Norton not getting along with El Capitan update 10.11.4?

I downloaded Norton for Mac approximately 10 days or so ago.  I had a recent update to my iMac El Capitan, currently showing version 10.11.4.  I hadn't updated manually for a while and did so last night, but the update hung up and never completed.  Then I got the "fix it" notice, but after more than 15 minutes (guessing here) I gave up.  

Then I started getting Apple error notices.  Deleted Norton and reloaded multiple times, each time trying something different.  Nothing works.  

Here's a screen grab of the first part of the Apple error notice.  I'm pretty much a noob concerning my Mac, etc, so I don't know if this info shouldn't be public, but I think it's ok?
