Norton Online Backup "categories" and "folders"

OK...  I am unclear as to interaction of categories and folders with Norton Online Backup.

I'd like to just backup a couple of folders, regardless of what is in them.   Do I need to click on (or add extensions) for every file that might be in the folders?

e.g.,

If I have \users\bob\pictures    (I expect all files to be copied, even though I don't say pictures as a category)

If I have \users\bob\pdfs           (I expect all files in this folder to be copied, without specifying a file extension .pdf)

Does this work?

Thank you for your fast response...  I may not have been clear in my original question, though.  Let me try another example.

Suppose I choose the folder to back up::

users\bob\misc\

This folder has a wide variety of files in it and I just want them ALL backed up, regardless of what "category" they might be.  If I check NONE of the categories, will NOBU just go ahead and back up all files in this folder?  (or... will it back up nothing, finding no "categories" are specified)

e.g., what I want do do is simply

xcopy c:\users\bob\misc\*.*   NOBU

Hi Bob

If you don't use the categories and don't select anything manually Norton Online Backup won't backup a thing. If you choose to Add Fodler and select that folder it will backup the primary folder and sub-folders under it. You can also create a rule instead to select:

c:\users\bob\misc\*\*

This should accomplish the same thing.

You can also view the knowledgebase article on creating custom rules.
