Norton Online Backup Does Not Work

Hi - I purchased Norton Online Backup two weeks ago and my computer just hangs when it attempts to back up my files.  I've tried everything including limiting to a couple small folders and it still does not work.  I have a good connection to the internet.  Also, when I try just to calculate the time, that just hangs on "Scanning..."  Please help.  Thank you.
