norton online backup - have I bought a bug?

Three days ago I tried to clear a file from my norton Online backup, to gain some space. The result:  the sign "in progress" is still on every time I have access to my account, and nothing else happens.. That is, all this time, no backup - for which I have paid - no access to the BU of my data, no access to the Settings panel,  all this time part of my bandwidth is constantly occupied  - AND NO PILOT IN THE NORTON COCKPIT. For all I know, this can go on till the end of my subscription, in a year or so.

when I try to ask Dave (the robohelp) he states, eith a HAL like persistence, that he is still learning.

Some questions: Have I paid for installing into my computer the equivalent of a bug? Is  there someone ftom Norton reading those posts - or is this just another hoax? Could I claim a refund?
