I have been using Norton Online Family for two years on Windows 7 x64 and it had been working fine. Recently, my subscription expire, so I upgrade to Norton 360 6.0, but since then I have notice that Norton Online Family crashes and protection don’t works, I finally found that crashes happens when my child uses Google Earth, I can reproduce crashes with these steps:
- Restart the computer.
- Logon on my child account (non-administrative rights - limited or restricted).
- Open a browser (Chrome or Firefox) and try to navigate to a blocked site, Norton Online Family protection works fine.
- Open Google Earth, navigate quickly to a different places on a city (zoom in and zoom out)
- After 30 seconds or 1 minute of doing this, Norton Online Family crashes, Norton Online Family icon in the system tray disappears, in Task manager the process has disappeared, and in Windows Services “Norton Online” service is down. I get an email message telling that Norton protection has been disabled on that computer.
- Open a browser (Chrome or Firefox) and try to navigate to a blocked site, Norton Online Family protection doesn’t work and navigation is allowed.
- I know that Norton Online Family service is supposed to restart automatically, but I think that this is not happening, anyway, my child discovers this weakness and does it to skip Norton Online Family protection.
My child user has non-administrative rights (limited or restricted), the only security product that I have in the PC is Norton 360 6.0, neither Windows 7 Parental Controls. I attach the screenshots with installed versions of Norton Online Family, Norton 360, Google Earth, and a sample of event log generated at service crash.
Please, help, Thank you.

Hi, Google Chrome version is 19.0.1084.52 m, Firefox version is 11.0, and Internet Explorer version is 9.0.8112.16421.
I think the problem is that I have google as blocked site, I review the activity log when Google Earth is open, and found blocked access to these sites before Norton Online Family crashes:
googleusercontent.com
khmdb.google.com
mw1.google.com
mw2.google.com
csi.gstatic.com
sketchup.google.com
cbk0.google.com
I added these sites to allowed list, and now Norton Online Family works fine using Google Earth.
Thanks
