Norton Online Family Safety on multiple computers --loose web access on other computers

I just updated to Avast 5.0 Home Edition on 1 XP and 1 Vista machine.  Same issue occurs - Web Shield on XP blocks web access, but works fine on Vista.

Yes, I've read that before.  I just wanted to give an update on the latest version (5.0) of Avast.   And BTW, the information is not entirely accurate in my opinion since the incompatibility with Web Shield appears to be only on XP, not Vista.

 

I've decided to switch to Microsoft Security Essentials for my XP machines.  I'm staying with Avast on my Vista machines. 

 

I still think NSM needs to handle ip-based URL's better.   I.e. so that when Avast or any other app tries to connect to http://208.74.204.196, it is allowed.
