Norton Password Manager 2004 -> Norton Identity Safe

I'm trying to migrate from Norton Password Manager 2004 to Norton Identity Safe that installed with Internet Security 2008.

I exported (backed up) my NPM files from Norton Password Manager, but when I try to restore them into Identity Safe, I get the following error:

"Unable to restore the profile. Please make sure your password is correct and the file is not corrupt."

I have exported several times and am certain that I got the password correct.  As far as corroupt, HOW WOULD I KNOW?!?!?!  I assume that with several attempts at "backing up" in NPM2004 that at least one of the files isn't corrupt.

Any idea how to get this data to import into Identity Safe, I sure don't want to lose 300+ passwords!

Thanks,

Your instructions worked perfectly!

If only Identity Safe worked as flawlessly as your instructions.   But at least my password migrated, and I can SEE what they are even if it doesn't always fill them out automatically.

I am having the same kind of problem as RRobaldo except that I am trying to move my passwords from an XP computer with Password Manager to a Vista computer with Internet Security. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Yogesh,

I'm having simliar problem to DanS and RRobaldo, but I'm trying to install NIS 2009 and it won't let me unless I remove NPM first. Any suggestions?

Thx.
