Norton 'Performance scan' - Scaremongering?

after a scan, Norton's Performance Scan showed a multitude of errors on my computer. running Norton Utilities resolved them, yet

The performance scan still showed ALL as still being present.

Is Norton trying to scare us into subscribing to un-neccesary products ?
