Revealed this Registry entry: Registry Key: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-649755851-1440411346-482230782-1000\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\3\"2500"
This is not necessarily problematic, unless malware made the change. My value for this key was 3. After allowing NPE to “fix” this, it restored the value to 0. Basically, it turned back on IE 11’s protected mode. I purposely had it off, hence the value of 3. It also revealed a benign Disney game. On some level, i still question the efficacy of NPE. If it revealed that protected mode was off, surprised that it didn’t catch an entry for a website under “trusted” category with corresponding security level set to low. {:-o
