I ran into this problem whilst cleaning a Laptop with Norton Power Eraser (NPE). The Laptop Power cord fell out right as the machine was about to reboot and scan for Rootkit. After re-attaching the power cord and running a disk check to fix errors on the disk (startup repairs), this is the message I am getting when running NPE: "Norton Power Eraser rootkit scan is initiated by another user on this computer, and it is pending to complete, please login to the other user account to complete the scan. Error Code: 0x8004500a,0".
How can I get NPE to run again. There is only one user on the Laptop separate from the hidden Administrator in Windows 7 Home Premium. NPE will not run past this error!
